Athens is famous for its Acropolis and its archaeological collections. Hundreds of thousands of tourists come here to marvel or just to take a selfie. Since the financial crisis, the city as well as the whole country met rough treatment. You can see this through empty shops, semi-finished houses and ruined streets.

The Master of Graphic Design visited Athens to speak with local graphic designers about graphic design in Greece, the design scene in Athen and the crisis. With graphic designers from the studio Typical Organization for Standards & Order we discussed their latest design projects. In the Typeroom I got to know the Greek alphabet better and with Linda Theodorou I explored the first cemetery of modern Athens. Moreover, Natassa Pappa showed me selected bookstores and typical Athens “Stoas”.  (covered shopping arcades with numerous specialty shops).
